Sixties People
Perhaps the most exciting decade to grow up in the sixties brought
significant changes in attitudes to society as well as prosperity-
popular culture came to the fore and threw up whole new social groups:
Girls
Twiggy,
Lulu, Cilla, Mary Tyler Moore all typified the new 'Single Girl' no
longer a teenager we know saw women as stronger and more independent.
Wearing
Mary Quant's mini skirt.
Jacqueline Kennedy
Playboys
Hugh
Hefner introduced us to a whole new world of cool, glamour for men
typified by James Bond. Shaken not stirred and sexually active in the
community.
Hippies

Unwashed and somewhat slightly dazed... the Beatles had shed their clean
cut image, grown beards and long hair and gone to India. Peace and
love and flower power people taking LSD and smoking pot and it didn't
quite work out did it. Ken Kesey and the Doors and if you're going to
San Francisco...
Beach Boys

Folkniks
Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel types
Mainstream American Culture
Well we still had John Wayne, Lucille Ball; Red Skelton; Dean Martin;
Bob Hope; and Bing Crosby.
The sixties had a something for everyone!
